we spent some time up north filming for a VW bus rental company (more on that later)
this past weekend. it's always a treat when you get to mix work and play, especially like this.
the road took us to magical places, and pulling up to montaña de oro state park
was no exception. thank you to our local pals and good friends we had some great tips.

this little gem of a campsite was nestled on the outskirts of a foggy coastline.
the mist rolled through camp at night, drizzling us with light dew.
it was chillier than we had anticipated, and we curled up in our VW camper van
falling asleep with stars glimmering through the mesh of the pop top.
whoever invented pop tops must have been quite the guy -
germans had the right idea when it came to volkswagons.

road trips, in my book, deem a shameless overload of two things.
one being junk food. candy. chocolate. chips. even soda. all types. in abundance.
two being same clothes over and over again. same shirt, different day. who cares.
life is short. might as well make it fun and interesting.

the bus ran smoothly and we tooted our horns at other wagons
and got lots of silly waves, smirks, honks and snaps everywhere we went.
the van life is a good life - a culture one of its own - it's sorta like being
a part of a special group, and no matter who you are if you're in a bus
you're a part of something much bigger than yourself - the VW family.
i'm sure my sweet sister and brother-in-law can attest to that.
